Artist - Lisa Muddiman Gray
Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Lisa has been living in the British Virgin Islands since 1991 after graduating with an Honors Degree in Textile Design in England. Her love of Batik fabrics encouraged her to develop a technique where by she could effectively use the wax resist process on paper. Each of Lisa's Batik original pieces is unique as the melted wax is applied using a Tjanting, a handheld Indonesian tool.

Lisa has recently started painting in watercolours. Her work mainly depicts seascapes, marine life & tropical flowers. In 2003 Lisa jointly opened "The Gallery" located on Main Street in Road Town, with widely noted photographer, Amanda Baker, where Lisa's original batiks and watercolours can be found as well as a large collection of prints of her paintings.
